I have been told by many that visit me that i should get into photography, well i have booked myself into a course for next year.
Today i got to go to a bridal party part of a wedding and do some shots, there was the actual photographer there aswell and he was so happy to let me take photos, he even took me to areas of the house and helped me what to shot and how to do it, giving me free lessons on working with my camera. He left 30mins before me leaving me in charge when i met up with him again he was so pleased to see my photos.
While at the house we took a photo of the same two girls and he said did you get this photo you should have it looking like this...and i had it spot on. So proud of myself.
The photographer has also mentioned that i can tag along with him on other shoots to get a better feeling for everythint. he said " you are doing very well, your have a eye for art". I picked up the reason my photos werent doing well on the bride it was cause her dress was very very white, once i put my flash on the photos came out perfect.
So yup im so excited and cant wait, i have a family photo shoot lined in the next few weeks already
@magentarose thanks megan, this course im doing is just a small term one, after that i might do a bigger one will see though...i have never thought of doing anything else other than childcare which ive been doing for the last 10 years of my life and i dont want to do that anymore.
That's really cool to have that experience and to have someone so interested in sharing their knowledge and be so encouraging. Sounds like a really great photographer to "mentor" you. Hope the course goes well too.
