Hello and welcome newbies! The best way for you to gain followers is to comment and follow other people here. Its really not enough to just follow people. You need to have a back and forth with other photographers. Commenting and leaving FAVs on others work is the key. You will form relationships and more importantly learn a LOT as the year rolls along.
Thanks @cromwell - finding my way through the mind-boggling amount of info on here, starting to get an idea of it. I'm thinking it's just a case of picking it up as you go along, it's only been a few hours since I started yet there has been a lot of helpful info from more experienced users like yourself - thanks for that :)
@seahorsejenn -- All 365 members can see how many FAVs they get on their daily photo posting page. Ace members get to see who FAVed it. Usually though, most people will tell you they FAVed it when commenting.
@astevens29 -- Yes. Whenever you come across somebody's photograph that you think is exceptional or touches you in someway you can click FAV to let them know it. It's the similar to clicking "Like" on facebook.
