I've been a member of a local camera club for a few years but as i travel a lot with work i can't always get to meetings so thought i would try doing a 365 project to keep my photography focus - I have heard form other friends who have attempted this that after a while you can struggle for inspiration so would love any tips / hints on staying motivated - would also love feedback from anyone who is prepared to give it :-)

There are a ton of great thoughts on this ... my idea is to keep lists of things you want to take pics of .... http://365project.org/discuss/general/15534/my-thoughts-on-365-success#comment-462001

Just take it a day at a time, always have a camera with you, keep looking out for shots :-)

@scolgs You should definitely try it. I felt amazing finishing up my first project this week! As far as inspiration and motivation, spend time looking at others' pictures. Comment on them! Don't stress about getting a perfect picture every day, just remember to take at least one. It is SO worth doing this! I enjoy looking back at all of my pictures from the past year (other than the 2 days I forgot to take one!!).
Love your two pics so far... following you :)

Hi Sarah,

I think the most important thing is to enjoy it! I haven't picked any specific theme, am just taking each days at a time.
You could follow the Weekly Theme on the blog, that always helps. Or if you are stuck for an idea on any day, just ask :) I am only here two days so far, and everyone is very helpful and active.

Hello! I am on yr 3 here and for me its more about not thinking to much into it...I stay motivated by challenges I see on here, the weekly theme or just a challenge I have come up with myself(which I write down!) Just have fun, learn and enjoy!

The monthly word lists are a good way to give you something to aim for - you can do everyday or just as and when you want. I found them really helpful in my first couple of months here. It's also great to see how everyone interprets words differently! The January list is here: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/15440/planned-4-jan
Oh, and thanks to Bulldog @gphelps5 for organising. Enjoy your year Sarah!

Welcome to the 365 community, Sarah - you're going to love it. Also, please stop by the "Your Favorite Fav of Someone Else" discussion thread on Fridays (along with some other recurring discussions like it!) - it's a great place to see some of the most wonderful things posted on 365!

Sarah and Kellie welcome to 365! All good advice on here already. Just keep snapping away even if you aren't happy with anything. I've learned more from my "yucks" than from my "wows". :)

There is definitely a wall, you will meet it at somepoint, more than once. I found having a few shots in reserve for those days when you are too busy/drunk/ill/sad/happy the most useful. I tend to do a small photo shoot then edit and upload some of the pics over the week.
