Found this nut and am wondering what kind it can be. It looks like a rather large but stubby shaped acorn but I am not sure. Any help from someone who knows about trees would be helpful.
Resembles the acorn from a sawtooth oak tree, but the acorn from the sawtooth is larger in comparison to the "stuff" on top. Also, the "stuff" on the top of the sawtooth oak is more defined and not quite as wild.
You can go on a site called iSpot and have nature objects identified for you. It's a lovely shot with a nice de-focused background, which makes the plant stand out well.
