WONDERFUL 365
My eldest daughter, Laura Latham, introduced me to 365 and I started on Jan 1st 2012.
I have managed to post a photo for every day since but not necessarily on the day or taken on the day.
I applaud those who can do “of the day posted on the day” but my BP is high enough already!
365 has had a marvellous effect on my life. I carry my camera at all times and have been seeking out things to photograph. This has caused me to walk around my area and I have seen things that I have missed in the last 40 years. I have discovered canals where I can walk on the towpath for miles on the level without those hills that my knees cannot take. I have discovered how far I can get on my bus pass for free and then walk back. On these walks everyone else seemed to have a dog – so I got Toby who is now 9 months old.
He demands walks every day and I reckon if I walk 5 miles he does at least 12 by running ahead and then back again.
Looking back it seems that I must have walked nearly 1,500 miles in 2012.
Perhaps this accounts for feeling much fitter and 28 pounds lighter.
Then there are all of you, all over the world. Some I feel have become friends and some perhaps will.
You have interested, inspired, intrigued and sometimes even irritated me with your photos. As many of you know, I can be critical but nevertheless I have made 128 of your photos FAVs and many, many more have given great enjoyment.
Also 365 is excellent in keeping me optimistic. All the photos I post are in one file on my PC and I use this file as the source of my “desktop” pictures which change every 20 seconds. So I live them again and can look back on all those glorious days. Barbara, my wife, remembers 2012 as being the wettest year!
So yes, I will be continuing for my second year and I hope for many more.
Best Wishes to you all for 2013.

It's great to think about all the positives that have come from this project Dad! Glad you have enjoyed it and it has been great to have a new shared interest!
I'm inspired just by reading your note!! That is great that you had such an inspirational year :) I am going to have to follow you to see what you come up with for the next year.
oh I love this David. I so know how you feel about this site - I feel very much the same. Taking a photo every day has opened my eyes to everything that is around me.
It really is an amazing site, and I am so grateful to Ross
@andrewrome365 I loved reading your post and agree that 365 is a life-changing experience. What I take away from what you wrote is the acquisition of Toby - to have a dog as a companion is just magical. Wishing you a happy 2nd 365 year!
Well done reaching 365 (or 366 it is this year). It's a great achievement - and the feelings you express are so common - I certainly never imagined I'd get so much out of doing it. Have enjoyed your pictures and look forward to more!
Well said David - I share a lot of the same feelings and I too carry my camera with me almost everywhere! 365 has made me look at things in a completely different way and has also got me out and about a great deal more. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
