Viewing pictures using the large/magnifying glass view

January 14th, 2013
Lots of people suggest viewing large, and I can see why as they look great against the black background, but I seem to have issues seeing the full picture when I do that.

I get a scroll bar down the side but although that moves up and down I can only ever see the top half of the picture. Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me? I don't know if I'm just doing something wrong or if I need to enlist the help of a friendly computer geek at this end to sort my computer out for me.

Any ideas?

Yeah I have that problem on my laptop. Not sure there is a solution - you can do control - (control minus sign) to make it fit . I also bought an ipad....

Glad to know it's not just me. I think given the post Christmas finances, I'll be going for the control - option. :)

Try pressing f11 to see the whole image

Do you use Internet Explorer? That's what I normally use and I have the same issue. However, trying it in Chrome, it doesn't do it - it works like it should.

F11 is the answer. :)

@emmar84 ah cheers for that!

Sadly, this feature has never worked properly with scrolling. :(

Right click, select "View Image". You should then be able to scroll up and down.

@fueast Control - works but I will have to remember to enlarge everything again so I don't end up squinting at text. :)
@emmar84 F11 makes it massive but doesn't seem to solve the issue of seeing the whole picture.
@emrob I'm using Firefox so I'll try it at work on Explorer.
@ladyjane Thanks for the view image tip. That does allow me to see the whole pic but I'm going to be drowning in open internet tabs given the number of pictures I look at. :)

It looks like there's no ideal way to get to see the full image but at least I've now got a variety of ways I know that I can actually do it. Thanks everyone for your advice.

The problem is the picture resolution. 365 should set a maximum resolution so it would fit most screen when viewed large or they could resize it automatically.
January 14th, 2013
@fueast haha. Buying an ipad is probably the best solution according to apple too.
January 14th, 2013
I have the same issue.
January 14th, 2013
I occasionally have this problem too, I think it may be down to the size (as in dimensions) of said photograph?
January 14th, 2013
I have the same problem in IE9.
January 14th, 2013
I had the same problem in I Explorer, fine now I use Chrome
January 15th, 2013
I use FoxFire and I have the same problem. I hate to switch to Chrome because it seems so invasive.

@henrir I agree. It's the only thing I've found that Firefox doesn't cope with so I'm prepared to put up with it if it means I don't have to swap.
January 15th, 2013
hey, this is on the todo list, i'll get it fixed :-)
Thanks

OK...you don't have to switch to Chrome or any other...f11 doesn't work for everyone including me...what you need to do is:
1 bring up the picture large by hitting the magnifying glass
2 right click on the photo
3 choose view image
4 click on image again to enlarge and scroll away!
The only thing about this is you don't just 'close' the photo, you hit the back button on your internet bar.

Hope this helps.

And of course....you can't view it large if it's not saved in the right size format...then you just see an image the same size as on 365.

@Scrivna Thanks, Ross. You're a gem.
January 15th, 2013
It happens the same to me...
January 15th, 2013
@Scrivna Many thanks Ross. :)

I have Firefox on my MacBook pro. I click on the magnifying glass and when image is too big I do a two finger tap on the touchpad. I choose "View image " from the popup window. The pic comes up normal sized then I click on backarrow to return to original page. Hope that helps someone.

@jeremiep Erm, how big are "most screens"? Tiny Netbook or giant iMac?
January 15th, 2013
@intymalcolm Well my guess is that it should be adapted for most common screen, i say 16 inch. Those who have mini screen have them for the portability, those who have big screen have them for work or because there rich (haha joke). My guess is most of people have 15 to 18 inch screen, but that's a guess.
It would be interresting to know. I'll start a topic on that.
