....after almost a month of shooting, i was looking at my calendar and suddenly realized that there were patterns there.....that really spoke about what my week looks like (already!) My best shooting is on the weekend when I have time....the rest seem to be just snapshots from my every day life. Too many meeting photos (that are actually making me laugh..too bad the meetings themselves aren't that entertaining!). My cats are obviously captured subjects, my husband won't be photographed, and I don't know camera well enough to take a self-portrait....(yet!) What does your calendar already say about you? [=
It says the only time I do anything interesting/venture more than 5 mins down the road to a friend's house is to go to a gig. It's probably relatively accurate, though if the job i'm in the process of starting works out this could be affected either way! Depends on free time/how I use it and such, or if i just crash out whenever I get back from a shift! hmm
Mine tells me that I'm to darn busy. I sort of new that but this makes it painfully obvious. I do love my life though, so I guess I can't really complain. ;-)
My calendar reflects my week. Better/more interesting shots on the weekend when there's more time and quick snaps on work days.. And lots of photos of the kids (which I'm happy about). I think my calendar shows the 'everydayness' of my life.
Mine tells me that I'm getting to know my camera better, am the most amusing caption writer in the world, and have a strong sense of sarcasm when writing about my caption writing abilities.
Mine are mostly of my kids and not quite what I had planned to do when I first started but oh well. The kids are young and one day I may have the freedom to get out more. =b
Mine says that there is no image stabilization in the world that can overcome how much my hands shake. :) And it pleases me to say that I'm definitely paying more attention to the shapes, colors, etc. of the everyday objects around me.
That is a great question!
I have not found any pattern in my shots(subject, color, lighting). They too seem to cover about every spectrum in style and subject.
Maybe someone else can see something that I can't.
Mine tells me I'm away just about every weekend XD And just about every photo I take on a weekday is on my walk to and from work. I need to get to some other places in the evenings to go and shoot!
I'm glad you brought this up. I have been noticing that there is much inconsistency in the style of my photos across my calendar. And when I go to other peoples' calendars, I see that they already have such a strong technique that their photos flow and blend on the screen and look attractive when displayed together. There isn't a whole lot of pattern to mine. I recently decided that one of my goals is to be able to see more consistency in color, composition, etc. on my calendar by the end of this project. Defining my style, in other words.
That I take photos of things related to food. No surprise, though. I've been doing that for nearly 3 years. I'm a food blogger. Beyond that, I can say I'm experimenting and learning to shoot in artificial light, and to vary shooting inside and out. No life events. My kids are all grown which in and of itself sets me apart. How many people out there my age are doing this? It's a diversion.
Mine reminds me my friends are around a lot and that they rule, that I have really great pets and that I party more than I think. And that living near the beach is awesome. I upload something that represents my day rather than the best photo (I'm doing this more as a blog than to showcase my photography skills!) and it's good to reflect and see that 95% of my photos are really happy memories.
I haven't even finished a month yet, and already I can tell that green permeates nearly every photo. I'll have to try and add other colours so my months aren't a sea of green every time :)
Mine tends to show my cat, objects in the house and garden, my friends baby and my travels. I haven't submitted any food photo's yet even tho I have taken them, but I did notice that many people have food, pets and babies featured regularly. What interests me about peoples calenders is that it gives you a sense of who the person is, but also the amazing perspecitves and angles that people like to capture.
Wow, looking back at My January...
U can learn that my dogs are my best friends.
I enjoy odd things,
I do odd things... I love painting no matter how much i suck at it.
I've been indoors much too long. (Chicago winter hibernation mode)
mine says that all i ever really do is work, go to school, do homework, or drive back and forth from school. i'm blaming it on the fact that its winter. maybe when the weather gets better i'll feel more inclined to go out and take pictures around my neighborhood or whatever.
I think the calendar shows the erratic, spasmodic lifestyle that I have quite well!
Also that I enjoy food
