@nyresolution
I took a 360° panorama (I took about 30 pictures and stitched them together with hugin)
Then I opened the panorama in gimp (you can use photoshop as well).
Made a square picture of it (the picture looked a bit compressed).
Then I rotated it 180°.
Then I took the polar coordinates filter and I got a mini planet.
Next I rotated and cropped the image to get the right composition.
@nyresolution Or you can get Tiny Planets on your iPhone. It still takes some skills, as you'll see if you get it....you learn to think differently when you snap the photo to make it work out.
My latest upload is basically my world! Done in a way whgich is far less spectacular than all the others above. I went for consistency and uniformity of layout. Something missing in my life.
oh NO another thing that I don't know how to do to add to my list of stuff to try. I need to focus, literally and figuratively on one thing at a time or I'll blow a chip in my brain.

This is the link I got from another 365er http://content.photojojo.com/tutorials/create-your-own-panorama-planets/
I cheated a bit, as my point and shoot has a "panorama" effect. I don't know how to stitch multiple photos together :)
