Word of the day

February 7th, 2013
Can anyone tell me how I find out what the word of the days is? I have noticed a lot of people mentioning this but don't know whether they are deciding it for themselves or if it is a general word for everyone.
Thanks!

@clef50 Look on discussions - themes and competitions. Scroll through the pages until you find Feature-4-feb. There you will find the list put together for word of the day and there is a word for every day of the month. It is up to you how you interpret this but great fun and keeps the motivation going!

@clef50 There are always themes and monthly challenges going on - some of them based on words, (like feature-4-feb), others on ideas (like http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/16115/flash-of-red-february). Some folk join in and stick with it the whole month, others dip in and out but of course most just do their own thing!
There's the weekly theme of course - this week it's 'slow down' and it's always on the bottom of the titles on the right-hand-side of the home page.
In the past there have been some wonderful monthly challenges, like same-september or the thumbnail challenge last July, so it's always worth checking them out as they get suggested towards the end of the month.
Challenges are a great way to find inspiration/try new things and there's usually a good camaraderie between folk doing them!

@clef50 Thanks for asking this question. It's been something I've been wondering about myself.
