Norwegian photo chain goes bancrupt

February 11th, 2013
One of Norway's largest photo chains (FotoKnudsen) closed their shops and filed for bankrupcy today. Over 230 people will lose their jobs.

Unfortunately they have my Canon SX240 in for repairs. I have no idea whether I'll get it back or not. It's not a big deal compared to all those people losing their jobs but it sucks anyway...

oh no
for the people losing their jobs and you

Oh no - that is bad news, for them and for you. One of our big camera stores (Jessops) and music store chains (HMV) filed for bankrupcy and once administrators came in they opened up and moved a load of stock, allowed vouchers to be spent again etc. Fingers crossed - for them and for your camera :)

Your camera is your property and so I don't think they can keep it. I would think the administrators will be obliged to return it to you. The same happened here a couple of weeks ago with Jessops. Good luck.

Yikes, good luck, I am hopeful they will return items that don't belong to them!

Boo
eeeek!

Hmmm ... they should at least send it back. They don't own your camera.

Hi
My Canon Flash Gun was with Jessops for repair when they closed the door.
If you have the repair request document made out when you left the item, the liquadators are obliged to return all goods.
You need to push a bit but I got my flash gun back in less than a month, the repair document is the key.
As a bonus Canon had decided that the repair was under warrenty and the flash came back working at no extra cost
Good Luck
