I’ve had a request from the owner of a website promoting the village I live in – Gordon’s Bay in South Africa – to use some of my shots on his website. At first I was overwhelmed, then I was petrified, now I don’t know how I feel.
Three of my shots have already been published on the site
Can anyone give me any pointers? It’s not as if I’m ever going to use my shots for anything fantastic, and I have asked him to check with me before using anything …
But somehow I feel a bit uneasy ….
He has assured me that anything I don’t like he will take down immediately – and of course he is crediting me as the photographer. Am I being silly?
Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!
congratulations! I can understand feeling a little uneasy -- in some ways, its a privacy thing -- all the things you do just for yourself via your photos are now laid bare for all to see.

Fabulous photography should be shared... this seems to be a good forum and they are giving you all the credit. I think congratulations are in order! Well done.
Wow, Gillian, that's totally fantastic! Well done!! I think the website looks great and they have asked permission and crediting you for the work, so should be ok?! Very exciting, I think!!
Hi folks, it's us! We are delighted to use Gillian's wonderful work. We will always check before we use anything, always credit, and ensure anything is removed if she changes her mind. None of the images are used for commercial gain. Our main aim is to promote tourism in this beautiful hamlet in South Africa!
