old fuji finepix F20 Se is dying... suggestions for a new camera?

My old faithful Fuji will not turn on anymore unless you go through the "view shots taken" arrow. The only way to turn it off is to take the battery out. It is time for a new camera. We are not professionals, we do not edit. We need a solid digital that will be able to focus on running toddlers and take a beating. A strong Zoom is nice, but not essential. What do you suggest?

My daughter has a Sony Cybershot TX9 that takes awesome pictures. Lots of features and HD Video is also a plus!

Ive just brought the canon powershot SX210 which is awesome . It has manual settings and can almost do anything a slr can do. It has a awesome zoom of x 14 . Takes nice clear shots .

i had to get a new p&s after my old 1 went missing after we moved house...i bought a canon g11, i am very impressed with it, !!
