Wow! Wow! Wow! I was amazed by these glimpses into the Russian Empire at the Turn of the Century and and thought I'd share with all here on 365. Some of these photos look like they were taken yesterday!!

With the support of Tsar Nicholas II, Prokudin-Gorskii traveled throughout the Russian empire in a specially outfitted train car conducting a photographic survey, according to the Library of Congress, which owns the original slides."

I came across this photographers work previously in one of my son's educational "kids" magazines. Saved the magazine & hoped to come across some of his additional work. The amount of talent he had was enormous! Thanks for the link.
