Ace membership??????

December 26th, 2010
I was considering becoming an Ace member, but I was wondering, for those of you that have upgraded, is it worth it?
December 27th, 2010
Oh yes... It helps to support Ross who runs this site from his bedrrom (well, study maybe :-)...) So it's def worth £15 or $20 ... Plus it gives you access to additional albums and picnik so I'd say yep... go for it.....
December 27th, 2010
Yes because it gives Ross, who runs the site out of his own pocket for the good of us all, a bit of a helping hand :)

KY
Andy - what do you mean access to picnik? So you don't have to go to picniks site to edit, you can do it all right here?
December 27th, 2010
@andycoleborn you mean picnik is on our site or its like a link to the normal site?
December 27th, 2010
@kymmy @emhoff Ermm Not sure as I've been an ACE member since the beginning when the link to picnick wan't available then... back in the old days..... I think @eyebrows comment is more apt, it helps keep Ross and this site going so any and all help is appreciated
December 27th, 2010
@kymmy @emhoff - if you are an ace member you get an "edit with picnik" link on your 365 page.
December 27th, 2010
I agree that its definitely worth it - access to extra albums, access to picnik but mostly to support Ross maintain this wonderful site.
December 27th, 2010
You also get access to creating extra albums with an ace membership, which I haven't used. I became a member to support the site, which I adore. Thank you, Ross!!
December 27th, 2010
It's worth it! The stats are my favorite part! Plus, it feels good to support the site!
December 27th, 2010
hmm.. and its only $19.99 a year? or month?
December 27th, 2010
@emhoff one off i think
December 27th, 2010
I forgot about the stats you get access to as well.
December 27th, 2010
@emhoff @andycoleborn - its $19.99 per year.
December 27th, 2010
totally worth it - great to support the admin!
December 27th, 2010
thank you all!! sounds like something I should join :)
December 27th, 2010
I love it and it is great to support Ross as this site is fantastic and he works hard at improving it all the time.!!
December 27th, 2010
@emhoff the biggest benefit is being able to support the website but I agree with @eliserose781, the stats are really helpful. Cheers
December 27th, 2010
I thought it was plenty worth while to support this site which I enjoy so much.
December 27th, 2010
Absolutely worth it! I feel it is the least I can do to support this amazing site!
December 27th, 2010
Yes! Worth it!
December 27th, 2010
@kymmy @emhoff With Ace membership, once you've already uploaded the picture, you have a Picnik tool on the photo that allows you to make changes without having to delete the photo, upload to Picnik regularly and do it and then upload again.
December 27th, 2010
i'm certainly not sorry now that i've done it :) and yep it helps ross, plus its a pretty good deal ;))
December 27th, 2010
YES. YES. YES. !!! Totally worth it!
You've got additional stats like seeing who faved you and which of your photos is the most faved, most viewed, etc. Also the picnik editing once your pic is already edited, like if you want to change something.
And up to 3 albums, which is GREAT because if you can't choose which pic you love the best, upload both!
That's all I can think of right now, I'll think of more I promise. I'm really glad I upgraded. I didn't even realize how much I was getting until I did it, and I was SO happy I did.
December 27th, 2010
I rarely use the Picnik link, as it is just as easy to edit with Picnik before downloading, and I haven't yet started a second album, although I think I will . . . I do enjoy the stats a lot . . . but mostly I just think it's a small price to pay to support the site that I love so much!
December 27th, 2010
Yes, it is very much worth it! I rarely use Picnik, but I very much value the support it lends to Ross. This site ROCKS and he does a bang up job administering it. (And I do like having an additional album as well.)
December 28th, 2010
I have an ace and I do not use nor Picnik nor the possibility to upload more pictures. I find it a way to support and encourage Ross in this wonderful site.
December 28th, 2010
it's not about getting anything for your money - at least not for me. I view it as helping to keep the site running. I am using their bandwidth/storage space for a whole year. yeah lots of sites offer it for free but I also pay for a pro flickr account. I just don't like taking things for free when it's something I value.

I think if you value you it, you should go ahead and pay for it. I don't even know what I get as an "ace" member- couldn't tell you what the difference is between that an a free membership. I don't care, I paid just to help support the site like I said. I don't anyone is getting rich on this thing but whatever is being made off of it probably helps offset alot of the cost which I imagine is not cheap. If I recall, I paid $20, hardly enough to make me think twice. I just feel good supporting the site and I have enjoyed being a member, have made alot of friends here, and value what has been provided by the site.

There's no right or wrong answer though, if you decide not to pay, it's fine too. It's totally up to you!

I was *this* close to signing up for an Ace account when I saw that they accept only Paypal. I can't remember my password for paypal, having used it only once and they were supposed to send me an email but it hasn't turned up.

I'd also like to support the site but at this point in time, it looks like being impossible.
December 29th, 2010
I have not regretted my ace membership ONE BIT. My way, as all others have said, to support Ross...who is amazing!
December 29th, 2010
I'm an ace. :-)

... but I am so going to change my email account for Paypal. Grrrr.
December 29th, 2010
Thanks guys :-) It is really appreciated!
December 29th, 2010
