Upload Size?

When you upload your images onto the web (either this site or others) what size do you save your images at?

For here, by default, they are displayed at 550px on the longest edge, and 1024px on the longest edge for the magnified view. So, for no real reason, I upload to both here and Flickr at 1280px on the longest edge.

I upload here my standard web sized and added signature at 800 pixel max

What about the resolution? Do you keep it at 240ppi or something along those lines or drop it down for the web?
