I like both but I must admit that I do feel drawn to black and white or selective color shots. Not sure what it is that draws me in but they feel somehow vintage. So which do you prefer?
For me it really depends on the image. Some photos don't look good black and white while others look better b&w. Selective color is never really my thing.
For my own photography, I generally work in colour. I don't know why, but converting to B&W just doesn't occur to me most of the time. o.O
With photography in general, I really don't have a preference. If an image connects with me it doesn't matter if it's colour, B&W, sepia, HDR, or whatever. Colour (or lack thereof) is only one part of what makes an image work for me.
well color because I personally find it more challenging to edit in color - wheras with B&W my conversions are pretty fast and easy. But with color there are just so many different ways I can process a shot and getting white balance right and skin tones, it's always more challenging so I try not to make it too easy on myself by doing alot of B&W conversions.
It really depends on the composition. Vintage and city scapes look good in black and white, but scenery and macro look better in color. Just my opinion.
I prefer color, as that is what I've grown up with and always have taken. Though some pictures I've seen on here are b&w, and might make me think twice when I get over not my strong habit of not modifying my shots.
@foursides I'm with ya on the selective coloring thing!

I'm not so sure about selective coloring anymore. It really just depends.
