Hey all! I just kinda started perusing through the "meet up" thread and thought that the Cherry Blossom Festival is coming up and thought it would be a great time to head to DC for a meet up! Just to give us some time to arrange for meeting up, I was thinking about Saturday April 10th. That's the day of the parade and the Japanese Street Festival... great photo ops for the day, on top of the blossoms themselves. I'm new to this project, but have jumped in feet first! I am really enjoying my time here and would love to meet other "locals" taking part in this project. Any thoughts? Or is this too short notice. Looking forward to the responses!
darn! I will be out of town that weekend...otherwise I would be all over it. I could totally be game the following weekend though Hazel if this falls through. Sundays work best for me so that I could make a family trip out of it as well and we could meet up or metro down together :)
How about this, as much as the Cherry Blossom Festival would be cool to have photo ops, there will ALWAYS be great photo ops in DC. So, if anyone else is interested, take a vote and majority rules:
1) Saturday, April 17th (can't do the 18th because of the March for Babies Walk, remember Christieeeeeeee?) or
2) Sunday, April 25th (basically any Sunday is good for me after this).
After that, I won't be available 'til after May because I'll be playing soccer mom on Saturday mornings. :)
It looks like there may be several groups meeting on the 10th (that is the day I selected for the CA gathering) so it would be kind of cool if a bunch of us did it the same day. Would be fun to see everyone's postings and a group photo from each gathering! Good luck getting it together!
I just changed the dates above, because Saturday the 10th doesn't work for me... I almost forgot about my nephew's birthday celebration. So, the April 17th works and Sundays after that.
