So I thought I would start a thread for everyone to share their favourite bug shots that they've taken. I know there are plenty of talented macro shooters out there in 365 land and thought it would be a good thread for ideas, inspiration, tips etc and to also get in touch with other members who have similar interests.
So I've picked three - all for different reasons. In no particular order.
1) This was one of the first macro shots that I was happy with and I love the colours!
2) I picked this one because I had been waiting for an opportunity to photograph one of these guys for ages. Not happy with the lighting though.
3)I just love this photo and I'm not 100% sure why. This wasp was tiny and I had no idea what kind of bug it was until I looked through the view finder.
i don't have any bug shots to contribute- but want to say how much i love this discussion! i'm planning on sharing these photos with my kids(5 & 8) after school today. i predict it's going to be fascinating (and educational) for them to see all the amazing and beautiful detail in these little critters. @clarissajohal - i'm also preparing myself for the questions about pink grasshoppers with daisy i'll get, after they see yours :)
Hey Lacey, I saw one those bugs in your top photo. Took a few macro's of it. FREAKY looking thing! I might upload one of the photos to my Extras folder actually.....

And this little guy was about 1cm in size
There are so many fantastic bug pictures on here!!
This is my contribution and made the PP page titled "take me to your leader"...
Here's mine! A teeny tiny katydid.
Sorry this is in 2 posts, my iPad doesn't like to let me jump between pages on this site.
A snail:
Flower spider:
This is my fave ... the Red Back Spider!
And a cicada before the invasion ...
Invasion starts here ...
Orb Weaver spider on the spent flower bud
Don't know if spiders are technically considered bugs, but to me they are buggy.
Saw this moth tonight, so I just had to stop and take a picture. :)
