As anyone who follows my project knows, I LOVE the iPhone app Hipstamatic! I have seen several 365ers starting to use it and one of the most common complaints I hear is that the results of the shots are not consistent to what you were looking at through the viewfinder. Usually the shots are skewed and don't line up how you framed them. Hipstamatic is programmed to act like this on purpose since it is supposed to be replicating the effects of toy cameras. That being said, there is a way to change it so what you see in the viewfinder is more accurately what you get in your shots.
On your iPhone/iPod go to Settings \ Hipstamatic and change the Viewfinder Mode to Precision Framing.
There are a number of things you can customize in the settings window including which side of the camera loads when the application is launched, whether or not you want the lens/film/flash to randomize on shaking and more.
One of the other things you may want to change in the Hipstamatic Settings is to disable the LED flash. First, the app has built in flashes and second, I find that the LED flash tends to be too harsh.
I would also recommend either checking out Hipstamatic's page on Facebook periodically or visiting their website at http://hipstamart.com/hipstamart/camera_gear to see what new paks they have in the works. They release new paks (sometimes free) periodically and some of the recent releases have been limited editions that are no longer available after a month or so. Grab them while you can!
Finally, if the different lens, film, flash options confuse you and you don't want to take the time to play with them to see how they work, there are a number of Hipstamatic color combination charts out there to get an idea of how each of the options work such as this: http://www.markbrucephotography.com/hipsta/.
Thanks Autumn! I love me some Hipstamatic and enjoy seeing all of your awesome hip photos! Changing the viewfinder setting will definitely make me a very happy girl on the weekends when I usually use it for my project.
@autumnseden Woo hooo!!! Thanks a bunch, Autumn. While I do enjoy playing, the link to the charts is a supremely helpful! Yeah, I loves me some Hipsta!
@autumnseden thanks for the tip... I did wonder how some of the bods who post on the Hipstamatic website got their subjects so precisely in the frame!

@autumnseden thanks for the tip about the precision framing. I love my Hipstamatic app but it was always a frustration that it would take me a few attempts to get it in shot as I wanted.
@aikiuser We will just have to take our chances if we ever get a chance to meet! I mean, it could be an intervention dressed up to look like a 365er gathering. So sneaky!
