I have improved immensely with my photographs in this last year. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has improved drastically. So if you've really improved in the last year I'd like to see two shots that show this.
I am well into my 2nd year now but you can see the difference even from July of last year to this year! Don't even get me started on the very beginning of my project. At any rate:
This was near the start of my project~ gosh six months or so ago!
And this was a week or so ago~
I think some of my shots in the beginning were good, but I have improved! Of course lately I've been doing a challenge and my shots seem to be crap! Ah well only a couple more weeks (of the challenge)
I know I still get badly wrong, however I know Ihave improved in a few areas since January this year.
Great to see other comparisons of other 365 users, it makes me feel better knowing that others are learning to.
This is a very interesting thread, Kerri. Wow, everybody certainly has improved. I still have a lot of things to learn but I have improved too over the past months. Here's my first entry, so boring (Aug. 15, 2010):
Look how much we've grown. I could easily pick just about anything and show improvement has been made but the moon has been the most revealing in my education.
October 2010 - My first attempt at getting detail on the moon.
Wow!!! I love this thread!! I have only been on here for a couple weeks - so I can't really post yet. I just hope I can in a year from now!!!! You guys are awesome!!!!
I don't even want to go back to the start of my project and show those shots. Here is a recent improvement. After some comments, I worked on the placement of flowers in my shots (still working on this). Hopefully, I have shown other improvements, but this is the most direct comparison I could find.
@autumnseden You are welcome!! That's one of the reasons I love this site! I feel like I've improved so much since joining and hope to continue to improve!
@4stories Wow Liz, I just looked at your earlier photos and you have learned so much in such a short time! You (and many others here... but I follow yours everyday) are inspirational!
Hmmm, I've been looking back at my photos and I think I still have a lot to learn, both in taking the photo and in editing them. A lot of my early photos are with my point and shoot which is very old. But I would love to learn some better editing skills, I'm sure I could do a lot more with what I take then!
Great thread by the way, and very inpirational looking at everyones photos.
Before knowing I could even configure my camara's ISO and remove noise from my photos:
After:
You tell me... haha I have to thank @mjkthorpe !!
Now I can do this:
This is a wonderful site and there is a lot to learn from others works.
Here's one from August. Yikes!
I like this one better ( I just picked another one because it compares a little bit better)
@pamfromcalgary Nice!! Great improvement!!
Hibiscus, June 2010. Ew.
Six months later... Jan 2011
@moonpig Great job of perspectives and focus.
@indiannie_jones Wow!! Way different!!

I've improved more since then but I don't really feel like finding examples.
Everyone has improved so much. I love seeing everyone's examples :-)
But i like this bokeh so much more.
And then there are the birds. :)
I knew the first one was bad and I think I just made it worse.
Then
@moonpig Wow, the 2nd shot is breathtaking.
@pamfromcalgary Likewise.
@kerristephens You really nailed the fireworks shot this year!
@andrebarrande Amazing how much this site can teach you, isn't it? Very nice improvement!
NOW
And my latest, June 27th

I think some of my shots in the beginning were good, but I have improved! Of course lately I've been doing a challenge and my shots seem to be crap! Ah well only a couple more weeks (of the challenge)
