Great freaking article. You do have mad skills as a writer. I managed to read the entire thing without falling asleep :) (I am a horrible reader and need good writing to hold my attention :) ).
btw, following you NOW..... mainly to find out what you write about in your descriptions :)
Jeff O, I think it's like one of things where I spend all day writing so when I get home the last thing I want to do is write, even if it's just a photo caption. Lol. This is why my mom told me to never marry a gynocologist.
@april.... hahaha I understand, an accountant never has a balanced checkbook, a auto mechanic's car is broke down. a pro photog doesn't have pictures of their family :)
What a delight that you shared the article with us! I'm glad you gave Ross his due for bringing us this wonderful website. I had some time today to leave more comments, and I'm amazed at how many relatively new people here I came acorss... the words out!
April, loved your writing!!! How cool you decided to spread the word!!! I feel absolutely the same about the project - what a wonderful opportunity to learn, even if it requires taking more than 100 shots a day, 98 of which end up in the Trash folder!! ;-)) When you stop trying, you start dying ;-))
I read your article. Well done, I'm one of those no-longer- young-yet-not-quite-old dogs too. your article was well writen and your photos are pleasing... I will now follow you.
"Of course, having been in the newspaper business all these years, I heard of other photography elements in passing, such as aperture, backlighting, graininess, density, farfegnugen, hornswoggle, kumquat, etc. ..."
Hi Aprill. love the way " old dogs " in your column referring to learning learning new tricks. i consider myself one of those and since i joined the 365project i have learned a lot not only in photography which i new nothing about. just always took about 750-900 pictures... (point and shoot so far with me old Kodak Easy Share digital camera. just recently bought a Canon Rebel XS but still do the easy way out P&S. so much to learn for me oldie) when on vacations... now i am in the process to find out how i can upload a video from YOUTUBE to our program. It just doesn't work on my computer but on the laptop i have no problem. refuse to use it as i should be able to do the same on my home computer. anyone reading this could sure use some help. i thought there was a place on the bottom of the upload page where you can add your URL of the video you want to use. the problem is i can't find the URL to my videos on my computer.. you would think 365 would want us to use this feature so how come there is so little said about videos and how to manage to get them uploaded???? i like to get in touch with YOUTUBE but when you click on help you get some answers but not the onet i need.. i shouldn't let out my frastation here - just not fair to you. but thank you for listening.
:)
