Desktop backgrounds

September 12th, 2011
This is an idea that is so small, yet so fascinating. Earlier this year I took a picture of a gorgeous sunset and set my desktop background to it. Earlier this week I stumbled on the fact that Windows can rotate several images at different intervals. I chose a handful from my collection and went on to do other things. Days later, I now minimize a program and am presented with an inspiring shot.

Do you have use your photos for desktop backgrounds? What kind of shots do you choose?

I have three monitors on my desk, so it's like a mini-gallery! :D

I have all my 365 photos as desktop backgrounds. I don't use the Windows program though, I'm using the Webshots desktop.

@jeancarl I have used my own photos for backgrounds (wallpaper) for years. When I find one I really like it stays for a long time. I've used balloons from our local balloon race, flowers and images from Missouri Botanical Gardens, etc. The one that was on my old laptop for most of the time I had my laptop was a family shot that was taken at Disney World in the summer of 2007. It was the four of us with Mater. I love that photo. The one currently on my laptop is of our beloved Scottie girl that we lost to cancer a little over a year ago. It will remain until I have a shot of our two new Scottie girls together that strikes my heart. Or, until I manage to get a picture of BOTH my kids together that turns out amazing. ;-)

I use my daily 365 shots as my desktop background each day, so mine changes everyday, I just right click and 'save as desktop background':)

I tend to update one per season of something I took but maybe did not end up here on 365. but I do have my screen saver as a photo gallery, so I get various "album" style photo collages on my screen every couple of seconds.

Great idea! I usually just have one image on my desktop, which I don't change enough. I've now set it to see my daily photos rotate.

My background is always a collage of the photos from the previous month. Then I make a new one and change it at the beginning of the next one :)

I set my wallpaper to my favorite shot at the time at work. It gives me a chance to show off my best with a bit of free advertising thrown in without my running down the halls yelling for people to check out my website. ;)

My screen saver is changing every couple of minutes with pictures from my 1000 and 1000 of pictures even from way before 365.

I change my desktop every four or five days. Obviously, landscape shots work best, but my current desktop is this one from last Friday.

I've been using one of my firework shots for a while now, but I've been using my own shot for a bit on my computer and on my phone.

Going to change it to this one today~

I got two monitors. Left one has a yellow 458 driving through the countryside, right one has Avril Lavigne. That's my interests in a nutshell. Cars and Avril Lavigne. Mmmmmmmm.

Right now I have a picture I took of mine and my fiance's hands together from just after he moved across the country to be with me. Usually, my wallpaper is yarn.

Bev
I use my 365 pictures for my desktop background. I haven't changed it in over a year though because I absolutely love the one I'm using. It was the first picture that I took that I truly liked after first signing up to do this project.

Here are 82 of the 95 pics I have for my desktop. Each picture displays for 15 minutes, then the next one comes up, etc.
