A few of us are doing this challenge which I made up, but I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else wants to join in (and so we can link to this page rather than keep typing out the rules!).
1. Grab a book (choose carefully)
2. Choose a page at random. Decide if you like it. (You get 3 chances, then you're stuck with it). Insert bookmark.
3. On the first day, choose a word from the first line. Take photo relating to that word, post to 365. (tag with book-word-challenge or something equally inane)
4. Next day, take a word from the second line of the next page, take photo, post etc.
5. Continue for October, moving one page further in to the book, and one line down for each day.
6. If there aren't enough lines on the page, turn over and keep counting until you get to the right line.
7. If you run out of book, choose a new random page and continue from there.
8. If the page is blank you can take a pic of anything
9. you get three free passes in case of lines full of completely unphotographable words, something brilliant happening that doesn't fit the words, or working so late that it's impossible to take a suitable shot.
10. Enjoy! :)
@olivetreeann, @summerfield and @rogley8 are also giving it a go too. It's lots of fun seeing how other people meet the challenge, and nice to have a little group going for moral support :)
I am getting a late start, but I may try this too. I usually shoot butterflies, bugs, lizards, flowers...but they are all dying now. I read alot, so this could be cool!
@espyetta It's never too late :) Make sure you pic your book carefully - murder mysteries and mediaeval novels aren't the best choices, we're discovering :)
Haha...I am finishing up Notre Dame de Paris and knew not to pick that. Yikes. Too many "foreign words" and things I cannot shoot. I picked A Prayer for Owen Meany and am so excited. I bought it because a another 365-er told me she liked it and it has been sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read. I am always so busy and have Hunchback of Notre Dame going on my Kindle....but I was looking for a good book for this challenge and this one appears to be it. And, I just started with page one, so I am getting "hooked" into the book, so that is great. I will do 31 days starting today. Wish me luck!
