Hey, all
what are your thoughts about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3? I have been using free versions of Picasa and Picnik, but want something "stronger". Is $150 a good price for it?
thanks!

It's an excellent price. I recently purchased lightroom and have been using it ever since I installed it. I refer to it as being similar to picasa but on steroids. The controls are super easy once you figure them out and you have total control over everything. There's lots of information and tutorials online. Go check them out.
I also use picnik. I liken all the editing programs to going to the grocery stores. There isn't one that carries everything that I need to buy, ever. There is no one program that covers it all. They each have good points and are a part of the tools many of us use regularly.
I agree with everyone get it while its cheap! I paid $150 for mine, in which its normally $300. Its awesome I suggest to try the 30 day trial first. Easy to use program and worth the money.
You don't necessarily want something "stronger": You want a scalpel rather than a chainsaw in dealing with your photo processing. Picnik is the latter, in my opinion. LR is great, but it has a steep learning curve and requires a lot of time to learn, even if you are fluent with computers. The filing system is sophisticated, but it is not easy to use, imo. It is what professionals use, but it is not for everyone.
@missvicki Yes it edits! It is awesome for most editing techniques. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Photoshop, but it will do a whole lot more than just organize your photos!

I use Lightroom 3 and I love it. It is pretty easy to use but if you buy the book from NAPP it is even easier. If you can get the student edition for $99. Yes, you can edit with it also being a library to sort your photos.
