It's apparent to me that many of us love to shoot train tracks. There is something about them that stirs our sense of adventure or travel perhaps, or the never ending lines of the rail, or maybe it's just raw steel and grit! So show me the tracks of your life. Here's mine from earlier this week that I ride every single day in NYC and I can say, for better or worse, it really is an adventure... and I love the noise!
I'm so glad other people are as fascinated by tracks as I am! I didn't upload this one to 365 (I chose a different picture that day), but if you don't mind a click, here's a link to it on FLickr. :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/newsmebaby/6671630999/
@michaelelliott I haven't made the leap to multiple albums yet, being so new. I chose a different photo that day, but maybe one day it will make it to 365. :)
On April 29th, 3 days after the Chernobyl accident all through traffic stopped, this line was now used in the evacuation of Pripyat residents, ferrying them to the "safe zone".
I've learned (from only one safety meeting) that taking pictures while on the tracks is not only unsafe (not from personal experience), but can be illegal. Always look (pointing is even better!) both ways, and never step on the track. So mine are from outside the gates.
A slightly different perspective...
My old road home back in Bristol
The bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand...
The Bamboo train in Battambang, Cambodia
And a bit of rust to finish things off
