Hey all. Hope everyone is having a great holiday season, winter or if you're from the Bahamas....well, just keep having...um....great weather.
Well, somehow, I got myself into doing a colored pencil theme for an entire week. Sometimes the fun of photography is to take one subject, and see how many ideas you can come up with. Different perspectives, different lighting, art styles...etc.
Thought if some wonderful people out there were looking for ideas, maybe you could join along. You don't have to do a whole week, but we'll make the theme a week long.
Photo has to contain a pencil...colored preferred, but regular is fine. Photo has to be new. This is not a competition, but a way of sharing ideas and techniques. Please include how you captured the shot...so others may try if they want to.
Theme will run from today, Dec. 28, 2014 to Jan 4, 2015.
Tag your photos theme-colorpencil
And please feel free to post the shots on this thread.
That's pretty glorious! Cool theme... Well, except for the colour part ;). I'd play in black and white only I'm at the cottage with no pencils... Mind you, the power has gone out and so maybe I should run into town to buy some (pencils, not power)... Instead of just sitting here in the dark eating Naxos by candlelight... Wonder if any stores would still be open... Hmm
@northy Sorry to hear about the power. The nacos and candlelight sound fun though. As for the pencils....go for it, if you can find one that is. Give it the Northy touch. :)
@losthorizon - Thanks so much for commending my focus cuz it took forever to get it right. Really appreciate it and I'm totally loving your color pencil images!!
@lavenderbells Wow Lavender....that's great. Funny, I was considering doing the same thing today, but went with the drops instead. Like yours so much better. Colors are fantastic. :)
I love this challenge. Perhaps the biggest was how to post my pic on the feed. I am a very new 365er and enjoyed having a topic to challenge me. I did find myself wanting to phone an expert when things weren't working though.
Macro filter on a Nikon stock lens. Light from window illuminating pencils in background.

This one done with 18-55mm lens and a macro filter
This one taken with 55-250mm lens at 200mm
Please share if you come up with another item to play with Beau!
