had a bit of a break but I am back and it's my turn to host Street Challenge 40!
thanks to Gary W. @gazzatron for hosting the previous challenge and for all who voted. all of the entries were great and I was humbled to be chosen,
The allure of street photography, in particular, has proved irresistible - I think the camera gives us a view of people (and ourselves) and their lives that we either do not or maybe cannot otherwise see. I hope that everyone will give street photography a go - even if you have not tried it before.
Street photography focuses on people (not posing) or street scenes with people in them - but this can be of shadows or even of yourself. To find out more about street photography here are some helpful resources:
This competition will run from December 27, 2017 until January 12, 2018 and I will make sure to allow for differences in time zones. Photos must be taken between those dates.

To keep this challenge current, and inspire other please post your photo in this thread. You can do this by left clicking on the right turning arrow at the end of the bar where the other icons are for making comments or favouriting a photograph. Then copy the text and paste it into your comments box on this page.
I know a great deal of the United States is very cold and it is the total opposite around the world so it will be interesting to see the variations! Enjoy!
