I have chosen the rather mundane drinking straw but i have every confidence you'll be able to come up with some new and intriguing ways of shooting it as a macro...
the challenge will run from today, Monday July 23 to Friday August 3rd... sometime thereafter i will select a handful of entries for voting on...

@joemuli certainly! and you can have more than one (more than one straw and/or more than one colour)... plus there are the bendy straws with the cool bendy bits, and i've seen straws with stripes and polka dots... and there's also the crazy shaped straws (I think we used to call them "silly straws"?)
