I was thinking of participating, seeing if my old Nikon FM-2 still works!!
Does anybody have suggestions for processing Tri-X (B&W) film? My darkroom has been boxed up for about 30 years?
I'm in the central part of USA. Would like someplace that will process and scan, provide digital files back. I looked at MPIX (who I use for prints) but they only do color film (C-41 processing).
@lsquared Most local labs don't process BW film any longer, just C-41. There are still lots of good labs that process BW by mail. I use The Darkroom, they are very good. They will develop and scan the images for you and send you a thumb drive with all of the imagery contained. However, it's pricey. If you have a dark bag and a developing tank and a decent scanner, that is the way to go. Most good photography stores still sell darkroom chemicals. For the cost of the chemicals, you can develop quite a few rolls at a fraction of the mail order cost. Another option? Send the rolls to me and I will develop and scan them for you, and then return the negatives to you and send you a zip file via email. If you want me to do this for you, email me at lasousa@me.com. I will give you my address. Please note in the package how you shot the film (box speed? push?). Sargeant Pepper.
@lsquared The FM2 is a true workhorse. I am sure it still works perfectly. Experience the return of connection to the camera again! It's a beautiful thing. Megapixels, Shmegapixels. Analogue is glorious.
@la_photographic Hi, I would be glad to develop and scan black and white film for those participating. If anyone would like this, have them email me at lasousa@me.com. If there are lots of rolls, perhaps one or two others with this skill can develop some of them. I ask that the photographer take an image in the roll containing their 365 name and email address. This process will extend the duration of the challenge. I will either email the images or send a web link to them to each photographer.
@walrus Wow, thanks for the offer. You're removing my excuses, if nothing else!! I still have my darkroom hardware, though it has been boxed up for 30 years. No chemicals, of course. And no scanner. .I'll let you know if I can't find something local. Of course, the "local" camera store I've frequented for years closed their last location last month (they once had 10 stores!). Choices dwindle...
@lsquared You won't find a local shop that will develop black and white for you. If you shoot C-41 you can get it developed locally in all probability....I think Costco does C41 and drugstores still, but drugstores now send the film out.

It wasn't a great month for photography, and I just didn't get the analog thing done. Bummer.
Lots of great photos by others though!
