Many thanks to @northy for hosting the minimal-window challenge, and thanks to all who participated and voted. I am honored to host my very first challenge! This edition will be “minimal-22” and the theme is “water”.
Dates :
- Start : the challenge starts Sunday, August 1st, 2021.
- End : the challenge is open for entries until Sunday, September 5th, 2021 by midnight in your time zone. (I’m extending the time frame a little as I will be away and am unsure about internet access. Someone please tell me if that’s not allowed!)
- Shots must be taken within this timeframe.
- Tag = minimal-22
I thought the theme of “water” would be accessible to everyone, regardless of location, equipment, or state of lockdown. Oceans, lakes and rivers naturally lend themselves to minimalist approaches, but it could be water droplets after a rain, water crowns, water running in a sink, you name it.
Regarding minimalist photography in general :
Minimalism is the art of less. As a life philosophy, minimalists focus on a few essential elements of life and cast unnecessary things aside. Minimalist photography uses a minimum amount of components such as color, shape, line and texture to emphasize the subject matter.
