My humble thanks to all who voted for me, not once but twice, in the last round of the Artist Challenge. And thanks to Joy @joysabin for hosting it. I was inspired by Leiter's reflections and candid street portraits. But I thought it might be time for something different so for this round of the artist challenge I've chosen up and coming commercial photographer Yuya Parker.
Yuya Parker is a Japanese photographer/director based in Los Angeles and Tokyo. Focused on still-life, he sees photography as a way of expressing joy through painting with his camera. And 90 per cent of his process involves creating new ideas. His recent series, 'Food as Contemporary Art', was featured in American Photo Magazine and exhibited in Art Division Gallery and Net Photo Festival. His clients include Airbnb, Gentleman Jack, Hydro Silk, Jamba and SkinCeuticals.
Parker's work is predominantly commercial but his style can be adapted to a number of subjects and genres (macro, still life, and minimal to name a few), and it's very colorful. You can see his work here: https://yuyaparker.com/
So put your creative thinking cap on, grab something close at hand and "sell it to me" a la Yuya Parker! Most of all, follow Parker's lead and express joy through "painting with your camera" with whatever approach you take.
The artist challenge will run from October 9, 2021 to November 9, 2021 (midnight in all time zones).
I think they are easy enough to mimic or adjust to what you have on hand. I hope they are!!
