Composite Challenge #60

October 17th, 2023
A huge thank you to JackieR@30pics4jackiesdiamond for hosting the last composite challenge, to all who took part and who voted. I am very honored and delighted to be hosting this the 60th Composite Challenge!

A composite is a combination of images to make a cohesive scene, it can be surreal, a fantasy, look totally realistic, be for fun or to make a statement - anything you wish, or any theme you feel like working on.

There are a few rules so please be sure to read them before entering.

There is no compulsory theme for the challenge, but there are three simple rules.

1/ You may submit as many entries as you wish, but only one photograph per photographer may be short-listed for the voting procedure, which will take place shortly after the end date.

2/ The BASE image MUST be YOUR own. If you use imagery from the internet or elsewhere to complete your composite, be aware of any copyright rules that exist, give credit where necessary, or mention where you downloaded the image from.

3/ Your final composite image needs to be prepared and uploaded between the challenge dates

It's lovely to see that we already have 7 entries in the composite competition-60! https://365project.org/tags/composite-60 Have a look as they are of several types, and I know everyone here is capable of adding their vision! Perhaps you'd like to add your composite to the link here for all to see and know where to find you to leave a comment!

Making a digital composite is a delightfully freeing departure beyond solely color correcting and posting. My most familiar tools are in PS where all you need to do is add another layer and pop something into it...make your photo of a caterpillar sit upon a leaf and you've made a composite! From there, *anything* goes! I know PS isn't the only software...perhaps some of you would add other choices (free?) to use for others who might join in.

Do you feel completely incapable to make something digitally? No one is stopping from you from building a composite the old-fashioned way...cut out your pictures and piece them together! Now take a photograph and post it! Take a step back in time and call that "Thinking outside the box"!

It's the weekend...let's see the numbers grow in "composite-60" . Personally, I think they're so much fun, I don't know what you're waiting for!!!

A reminder to any who may be interested, Nov 5th is the deadline for composite-60 entries and I'll post what has arrived for a vote. "A composite is a combination of images to make a cohesive scene, it can be surreal, a fantasy, look totally realistic, be for fun or to make a statement - anything you wish, or any theme you feel like working on." Look at the entries already and you'll find a variety of ideas; only 2 different items put together, one, at least, being your photo, becomes a qualifier! You just may find there's real enjoyment in doing this!
