Chris @cdcook48 has asked me to host this months’ Sports Action 17 competition. as I was the runner up in Sports Action 16 please accept my apologies for a late start!
This challenge is a very wide-open category and any sporting activity is eligible. The only rule is that the main subject should be a human actively engaged in a sport of some kind. It need not necessarily be a competitive or organized sport so recreational running, cycling, swimming, roller blading etc. is permissible. However, simply walking the dog is not,
You won’t have to look hard to find a subject – go to your local tennis courts, cricket pitch or football field, Football (soccer), Rugby, American football, baseball, basketball, netball, shoot a jogger in the park or a cyclist almost anywhere. Sport is everywhere! Use your camera or phone to snap a photo of your playing partners on the golf course. There are subjects everywhere so get out there with your camera/mobile phone and show us people all over the world having fun participating in a sport.
I will back date the start of this challenge to the last weekend 28th October, if you have something that has been waiting on the sidelines you can post it now.
The closing date will be 28th November. That should give you plenty of time to shoot the action.

@pcoulson Thanks for getting it up so quickly Peter. Just to be clear, however, you were the winner not the runner up. Sorry if I wasn’t clear in my post. Your image of the kayaker was superb and a fully deserving winner.
