Very interesting post and the accompanying photos are splendid. I was pondering on what did it take to turn the Afghan girl portrait into an iconic photo? I bet there are plenty of similarly gorgeous portraits, maybe some even better. And perhaps even in the photo library of Steve McCurry there might be better portraits. Yet this is the one that made it to the firmament. What forces drive that?
Which returns me to the idea of your article: Creating Memorable Photography. I bet that each member of 365 has at least one memorable photo. But memorable to them.
Great food for thought!

When I saw John Falconer's post with the Afghan girl portrait I realised I knew the photo. Yet I was ignorant who took the photo. I guess the photo surpassed the master's fame.

Love those Iceland shots. At the waterfall, we must have been standing in almost exactly the same place and using I think the same lens (mine was the Canon 24-105 at 24mm).

“Photography is not just about taking photographs, it is about choosing a life of curiosity, exploration, and wonder and it all starts with developing an eye to see things from a different perspective that tell a story.”

Thank you for sharing the words & the images.
