I just received as a gift Photoshop Elements 7. I'm excited but also a little overwhelmed. Seems like a lot to learn. I'm looking for a Photoshop class to take this summer.
I use Photoshop elements and bought a pretty good book to help me, but I find that youtube provides some great tutorials! That may be a good place to start, also check out your local library mine has lots of books on PS. Good luck
I use photoshop cs4. I would be happy to try to help you if you like. I am not an expert by any means but I have learned a little and what I have learned is from various tutorials that I have found. I also taught myself few things just from googling..what is this or how can i do that...and it opens up some sites with instructions..sometimes even on youtube you can get demonstrations how to do things. I take notes and practice what I learn, such as the weaving tutorials that I did and have on here. Hope that helps :D
http://photoshoproadmap.com is a great website. you can search within the site, type what you want to do (vintage effect, cross-process, etc) and they generate tutorials for you from various sites. and it's really step by step...if i can follow them, you can, too.
I've been using Adobe products for years and I'm self taught. On top of that about 4 months ago I bought a book made by a couple National Geographic Photographers that goes through photography techniques, light-room and photoshop. That's helped me a lot too.
There are a lot of great tutorials on youtube as well I find so you can replicate certain effects.
Also, just keep practising and playing around with it. I've used Adobe PS for years and I still figure out new things all the time, it's a continual learning experience.
I have photoshop CS4 also, the way I learnt mostly how to use it was through youtube, watching video's and writing down everything. I have a whole exercise book filled with things I have learnt.
this is one of my photoshop cs4 step by step finished products.
