Horse and cart at the traffic lights

We went to Liverpool today and, as all good tourists should, took the ferry across the Mersey. We were on our way back to the ferry when I saw this horse and cart at stopped at the lights and the driver taking the opportunity to have a quick chat with a friend.

What a great photo. I saw a rag and bone man with a horse drawn cart today in the middle of Tel Aviv. It seems very strange to see these things in cities!

I shouldn't think the traffic fumes do these horses much good, but on the plus side with this one, he looked unstressed and he was in top condition.
