Dancing tree

The guy with his back to us is Jan. Thames Valley Morris Men wear waistcoats with a dancing tree sewn onto them. Each tree is home made and an individual design. I did Lester's [he doesn't wear it now cos it's shrunk - like a load of my clothes seem to have done ;-)] and Jan's. I did Jan's about 30 years ago. It's looking rather worn and some of the leaves have fallen off, but I think that's how it should be.
Lester (that's him smiling at us) began his Morris dancing "career" with Thames Valley Morris Men in 1975, the year before we married.
He hasn't been a full time member of Thames Valley for many years but every year they have a weekend away in the Cotswolds at August Bank Holiday and we go to see them. I thought it was a good time today to take a picture of Jan's waistcoat.
Its admirable that he's stuck with it all these years! The waistcoats took a bit of work, well done to you too.

Your handiwork is beautiful and you've captured it well. I married my sweetheart in 1976...that was a very good year :)
