A fir cone in a fir tree

Time slipped away today and by the time the light had gone I'd only managed to get a few shots of some fir cones. This was the one I liked best of the ones that the wind didn't blow out of focus.
Have you ever noticed how winds whip up out of nowhere just as you're trying to get shots of plant life?
