We stopped for lunch in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, on our way to and from Alnwick.
This is a weir across the River Wharfe and the water really does run that rather peculiar colour as it tumbles over the weir.
The sculpture "Spawning Salmon" is by Michael Liesener and was presented by the council to mark the millennium.
I took a couple of photos of this on the way up but was glad of the chance to visit this spot again on the way home for the day's picture. The colour of the river intrigued me. I guess the sculptor may have chosen his material to complement that colour.
