Lester and I went to Ham House in Richmond on Tuesday*. There's currently an exhibition of sculptures and sort of performance art stuff there. I'm probably a philistine but I couldn't help thinking of the Hans Anderson story "The Emperor's New Clothes" ** when I saw some of the stuff and read the explanations in the catalogue that someone insisted we take. Some of the explanations were as incomprehensible as the work itself!
I didn't understand what this woman's head on a stick was all about either but I did like it for the light effects.
*Written Thursday; still all out of sync after gallivanting, a busy weekend, and smarting from a visit to the chiropractor!

Glad for the commentary - kind of agree with the "oh look, it's are" comment, but the lighting and color are marvelous. Some art work does leave me rather puzzled about the intent - this may be one.
