Lester and I met on 14th November 1973. That's very nearly 39 years ago.
Some years ago he played a washboard as a percussion instrument. These are the thimbles he put on his fingers in order to play. I came across them when I was looking for something else on Thursday.
Many, many thanks for stopping by and for all lovely comments you've left on my posts. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Hugs. xx

Congrats on the upcoming anniversary! That's a good record. I really like how you brought out the shadows in this. Great composition. I haven't heard a washboard played in years.
Haha, your commentary gave me a good laugh. You are not a very observant partner, are you? Great shot of these thimbles, though. He must have been great to listen to.
Oh, so you have an anniversary coming up! It's fun to reminisce about old times and I enjoyed your narrative. Great perspective, lighting and shadows .... and, wishing you a happy 39th anniversary in advance ;-)
You have given these nice texture and shape from the shadowing. Amazing what you find when looking for other things, you can get side tracked for hours! We also met just before November 5th,many years ago like yourselves. Neither of us could remember the exact date only that it was a Friday!
Fabulous skiffle shot, my eldest brother plays washboard in a band called The Ramblin' Riversiders, presume he still does, haven't spoken in a while.
Fun shot
Lol! Maybe you have learnt how to overlook things - it can be the best way of staying together! A nice shot, too - I like the way the different angles of the cross-hatching on the thimble tops adds extra contrast.
So, 'Fingers' Lester strikes again. LOL. Nice idea. I have a picture in my head of something like this. I must do it one day. You have inspired me now.
