So, I have been challenged to take a close up of an inanimate object. I know the challenge starts tomorrow but I thought I'd practise today in the park. Let's just say we should all be happy I'm not doing @cheesebiscuit 's challenge of one photo a day sooc. They were really boring. I was going to upload one anyway but as the challenge starts tomorrow I thought I'd give myself another chance for a slightly less boring option tomorrow...or the next day...and leave this week with this one. I just like the high key look and focus of it. Get ready for a week of inanimate objects say I. By the way @northy. I love this challenge and don't know why I didn't jump in earlier.

@kph129 It is! Mind you I don't know if I could have done it with my point and shoot. Even this one would be better with a macro lens. I am really loving it though. And thank you for the comment.
Looking forward to your week of inanimate objects and am interested to see what you come up with! Your shots have been a great inspiration for your challenge to me of a high key shot but I still feel a bit nervous about whether or not I can pull it off. I agree, this challenge is a great way of changing the way you think about things. Great shot btw with gorgeous soft colours.
Her face might be saying "Aww, mommm! Not agaaainnn?" but you can see from that she really doesn't mean that. She loves the camera, it seems, and the camera loves her. You've got such an eye for this kind of photography, Edie. I really look forward to seeing what you come up with for your inanimate objects shots. Swings don't count, right? ;)
And by the way, I'm betting you could easily do the hardcore challenge, no problem at all. It's just not suited to the kind of thing you normally take - trying to capture kids in one singleshot? No way.

@Cheesebiscuit I could do that challenge, and I think it's a great one. I hope some people joined you. It wasn't perfectly timed for me but it sounds like fun. I just like giving you a hard time...and it would be a bit scary to take on.
