low key selfie

Low key portrait for my get-pushed challenge. My friend Arwen @hiarwen2 sent me a link about low key photography this morning...which almost made the girls late for school. Anyway, I was so excited to try it. When I got home I walked in the back door and saw the dark stairwell to the basement so I grabbed my camera and a flashlight (you are right @amandal the flashlight is too bright so I covered it a little) and took a couple of selfies. I love the shadow on the wall. I loved this one in black and white but there is a colour one in my other album here.

It made me realize my shot of Jaci is closer than the hot chocolate one to actual low key.

This is superb. You're reminding me of something (movie scene, maybe, and also possibly a vocal artist) but the neurons aren't connecting.

I'm fascinated you used such a high ISO and so on. I think my attempts haven't allowed enough light.
