Garlieston by ellida

Garlieston

A very pleasant small village on the Machars. A local name for the peninsula that leads down to the Isle of Whithorn, Galloway. It has a large harbour and was the birthplace of the Mulberry Harbours. Prototypes were built here and other locations were chosen to built the temporary structures later.

bet the air was much dirtier with all the coal smoke - you really smell it when you see it now (or near coal powered power stations, not that there are many left)
