17th January 2016

The cold weather continues but the advantage is that the nights are clear. Today was the last day of the Lumiere London 2016 outdoor light show. It was only on for 4 nights and yesterday some of the displays had to be turned off early. I persuaded Colin to come up as well and it was brilliant. There was 3 trails around the West End, Bond Street and Kings Cross.

The artworks varied from coloured projections onto Westminster Abbey colouring the statues on the facade to human figure suspended in mid air, created from chicken wire. A lot of the streets were closed to traffic including Piccadilly and Regent Street. It was a novelty just being able to walk down the middle of the street without being knocked down!

My favourites were the wire men in St James Square and balanced on surrounding buildings and also the strange sea creatures being operated by puppeteers in Piccadilly and Regent Street. It was difficult to choose just one image and I put together an album of images on FaceBook to show many more works of art.
