This morning Colin was at golf so I decided to have a go at cleaning the external plastic windowsills that Colin had been worrying about. This could have been straight forward but the windowsills are on the first floor and there is my large work table in front of the window. I managed to move the table out of the way. I had a little go before I went in the shower and fund that actually it was very easy to clean simply with warm soapy water. The challenge came when I had to try and reverse the windows opening using the special latches and also trying to get around the corner. I manage this by using my new litter pickers and a J-cloth and made a pretty good job of it.

After the window sills I moved onto the windows now sparkling. Next task was to repair Colin’s golf umbrella that he had actually hit with his club - no idea how!

The problems in tracing the £1,120 paid to John Lewis a couple of weeks ago continued with basically no sign of the money although Natwest were helpful and gave me a unique code of proof of payment.

In the evening Colin got the barbecue out and cooked up some delicious sardine and chicken thighs and I knocked up a rather nice coriander and mint sauce to drizzle over the top - delicious and a good way to start the Olympics - opening ceremony was ‘interesting’!!
