080 - Reach Out

You know, sometimes you can try to pose a shot and it can come out beautiful, but more often than not, I'm finding the completely spontaneous ones are the ones that shine. I was over shooting pics of ducks and whatnot when I turned back around, I saw my girl just walking around under the bridge, singing to herself. I quickly snapped the shot, which was good because she dropped her hand a second later. And when I tried to recreate it for more shots, different camera compositions, it just wasn't the same.

At any rate, looking at this makes me think of how she's dealing with the move and going to a new school next year. I know it's not easy and I know she probably feels like this, like she'll be alone, but I know she'll be ok and that she will be embraced by new friends. She has such a light about her. Hang in there, girl!
Love this mysterious and you are right about the light!

I agree, the ones that 'just happen' for me tend to be much better. This shot really intrigues me. Love it

Ohhhh this is so cool! Such a great idea and an elegant shape - both in the figure and in the light/shadow play.

Powerful , emotive image. Live your use of negative space and the detail just slightly illuminated in her legs. Fav

Yes, I like to capture the frames in life that just happen and I just happen to be there. Beautiful shot. Very emotional.

This does have a very special quality about it. The lighting is wonderful and yes, I am left wondering what is going on in the thoughts of the girl. Wishing her well.

@emrob This is a great shot. It looks like you are my first Get Pushed partner. You've done so many fantastic shots with so many different techniques and subjects that it was a challenge thinking of something you haven't done. So... your challenge this week is street photography. Find someone doing something interesting around town and capture it. I know it can take some time to go out and observe people and find something interesting. So, if there is just no way for you to do this let me know and I'll think of something else. From your comments previous it looks like you have been quite busy with a move and all.

@rminkler Ah I knew someone would get me with street photography at some point! Lol. I may actually have the chance to do it this week, so yeah - sounds good! I'll get you a challenge by tomorrow.
