OK...take two on the ice bubbles, thanks to @aecasey and her wonderful inspiration and the sharing of her bubble recipe!
It rarely gets super frigid here in Texas...well, besides the Snowpocalypse 2 years ago where the entire state was freakishly covered in snow. Or last year's weird ice storm that decimated so many of our live oaks (they don't shed their leaves so when they get encased in inches of ice, they can't take the weight and they break)...
OK so maybe frigid temps once or twice a year is actually the new norm! Anyhow, I decided to try the ice bubbles again and they worked a little better today as it was slightly colder and slightly less windy. While none of my shots were very epic, it was a really neat little science experiment, if nothing else, to watch how the crystals formed. They end up looking like pearls when the ice completely closes up in them.
So thanks again, April, for sharing your expertise and encouraging me to go for it! I think I'm ready for the temps to return to the 60s again.
Let's see...I love chain link fences, foreground blurs, sunsets, shooting into the light at golden hour, and decreasing the clarity ever so slightly to give...
April, I was so excited to try this! Maybe next time we'll have freezing temps on a weekend so I can go out for longer and to where it's sunny rather than just my backyard!
