I consider myself an ardent supporter of historic preservation, but even I wonder sometimes about the value of certain old buildings. A recent newspaper article listed this one as worthy of consideration for landmark status. Except for a bit of Art Deco styling, I'm not sure why.... I do, however, like the trees growing on the roof!
Hmmm- the art deco columns there do have some artistic appeal. The large windows may give one a spectacular view, if it was turned into condos or offices. I don't know- it will take someone with a great imagination and vision to see what could be done here. Who knows, maybe they'll take a cue from the trees on the roof and turn it into a botanical garden!
