Notches

The joinery of a log cabin at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, NM. I find this a little hard to believe now, but I once wrote an entire research paper on the notching techniques used by different cultures in building log cabins. Seemed interesting at the time. . . .
It still sounds interesting to me. I would never have considered there were different techniques. Fabulous textures and POV with B&W being the perfect processing choice.

Fantastic shot! Love all the texture and patterns! I'm sure the people who perfected this technique found it pretty interesting - and necessary for happy survival! ;)
